If your goal is to build confidence, prepare for school productions, or develop serious acting skills, our theater training program provides a clear path for every actor.

Students progress through a series of carefully designed courses that build upon one another, from foundational performance skills to advanced character development, scene work, auditions, and specialized acting techniques.

Classes are intentionally kept small to ensure every student receives individualized coaching, performance opportunities, and personalized feedback.

Recommended for ages 10 and up (unless otherwise noted).

Beyond the Basics: Acting for Theater

Prerequisite: Foundations of Theater or equivalent acting experience

Designed for students who are ready to move beyond the fundamentals, this class explores what makes performances believable, engaging, and emotionally honest. Through guided scene work and performance exercises, students learn to make stronger choices while developing greater confidence on stage.

Audition Intensive

Prepare with confidence.

Ages: 8+

Whether preparing for a school production or a community theater audition, this two-session intensive helps students walk into the audition room feeling prepared and confident. Students learn how to present themselves professionally while developing practical audition skills they can use again and again.

THE ART OF IMPROV

Learn to think on your feet, trust your instincts, and respond naturally through interactive improvisation exercises and games.

CREATING COMPELLING CHARACTERS

​

Explore how actors develop believable, memorable characters through physical choices, relationships, objectives, and imagination.

​

Prerequisite: Beyond the Basics or equivalent experience.

ADVANCED PARTNER SCENE WORK

May 2027

​

Strong scenes begin with strong connections. This workshop focuses on listening, responding truthfully, and building authentic relationships with a scene partner. Students will explore scene dynamics, timing, communication, and the give-and-take that brings a performance to life.

THE ART OF THE MONOLOGUE

A great monologue is more than memorizing lines.

 

Students will learn how to choose, analyze, and perform a monologue with confidence while developing a deeper understanding of character, storytelling, and emotional connection.

 

Prerequisite: Beyond the Basics or equivalent acting experience.

Helene Benigno is an award-winning playwright, director, actress, and theater educator with more than 30 years of experience on stage and in the classroom. Throughout her career, she has earned recognition for her work as a director, playwright, and performer while helping students of all ages develop confidence, creativity, and a strong foundation in the craft of theater.
